Battlefield 3

Not sure TBH, but it might be a good idea to set a day of the week that we can all try to game together. In my case, Tuesday night is DeadCartel, Thursday night is CryHavocWarfare. Usually from 10pm-4am. You guys should join us on any of those nights. I can dedicate either Monday or Wednesday nights to the RFD crew. No need to guarantee you'll show up, but at least we'll all know when to look for eachother. Anyone else have any preferences?

edit: I also run two servers, one is a 64p ranked, the other is an 8p unranked practice server. If anyone has some ideas or just wants to practice dogfights or experiment with anything, the servers are open to you. Send me a msg and I'll join you. You can search DEAD CARTEL in the server browser to find them.

I like that idea, except I'm not available most of the week due to school (except weekends). I might be able to make it on Thursday evening.

I've had loads of trouble getting used to the controls for flying airplanes and haven't figured out the trick until recently. Even so, I haven't learned to aim at a target properly while flying the damn thing. I'd love to hop on the practice server and give it a run.

I have B2K and I like the additional maps, it helps keep the game fresh. I think BF3 is still lacking a lot of maps. I fear that they will implement the map pack systems where they just keep pumping out old maps and charging us a "modest" amount to upgrade them to use Frostbite 2.0. I don't mind paying for actual content (ie: more guns and gadgets along with maps) but if it's pure maps, I'll have to think twice.

I've been enjoying the game for quite some time now. Unfortunately they seem to touch up the wrong aspects of the game. For example stinger nerfs when its nearly impossible to land a single shot when flares are nearly almost always up by the time you manage a second lock.

Hey all,

Sorry if this has been asked or explained already, but can anyone explain what the benefits of being part of a platoon are?

I'm a PS3 user and I usually just squad up with friends when they are playing. Sometimes it's annoying as we get put on separate teams and we have to start over, but I'm not sure if being part of a platoon would do anything about that... Just wondering if there were other added benefits or if this was just an affiliation type thing?

There's really no reason to join a platoon other then to show your support and be part of a group with common interests. Some people consider platoons a gimmick, I consider it a way of promoting my crew which spans to different titles, platforms, and genre's. You should join up, you may find another friend or two to game with.

As for joining in on a friend, I'm pretty sure it helps a bit if you're both with the same platoon. 90% of the time I end up in the same team and squad if the person I joined on is part of the same platoon. You should try launching a platoon to see if it actually makes a difference.

If you want, we do have a PS3 branch that is always ready to welcome you. Most all of our PS3 guys are from Toronto and active nightly. Be warned though, those PS3'ers are pretty heavy stoners. But you'll have fun.

Sorry should've specified, they're not affiliated with RFD in any way.. I'm not even sure if there is an RFD PS3 platoon or I would've linked that instead. Shame to be honest, there's a strong PS3 community in BF3.
