I'm having a hard time racking up 200kills with the AS VAL to get the extended mags. I'm too spray happy. Been using the PDW-R more lately, that thing is pretty beastly in close quarters. Hipfire.

I tried using the AS VAL as a semi-auto sniper last night. It's a bit counter-intuitive because with regular semi-auto sniper rifles, you're supposed to pause between shots for recoil to settle. With the AS VAL you just click the mouse as fast as you can from any distance. Zero recoil.
Pretty good.Last edited by board123; May 2nd, 2012 at 04:20 PM.

Yeah I don't really get it. Patrick Bach is famous for saying that the Battlefield way is to 'unlock your weapons and specs early, so you can enjoy them and make the most from early on'. Sooo.. who the heck wants XP? I have no more unlocks to gain, except maybe for Support class but I refuse to touch LMG's.
Also, doesn't this sort of undermine their 'instant-rank-up' DLC they've been advertising?
EA/DICE are a bit of a mess these days..._______________

It's likely a ploy by EA to entice the casual players. Gives these players a chance to unlock new weapons/equipment in the hopes that they would enjoy the game more. By doing this there is the potential of up selling the casual players into buying the new DLC's that contain additional weapons and other goodies.

I'm not really concerned about ranking up, but it's about time they had a double XP weekend.
Also, it seems that the extra XP gained increases your Score Per Minute

Just because you have all the weapons, it doesn't mean that you're better than other players or that it gives you an edge over other players. In the end it does come down to skill and IMO, I think the weapons have been decently balanced anyway so I've never had an issue with the 'buy to unlock all the kits' DLC thing._______________Heatware

Well folks, if you didn't want or wish for it, EA is gonna push it anyways. I guess they like Activision's koolaid so they're gonna do the same.
EA will unveil Battlefield Premium, a rival to Activision's Call of Duty Elite subscription service, at its E3 press conference next month, a new report by Battlefieldo claims.
An official reveal is expected on 4th June, the date of EA's annual E3 extravangaza.
"Battlefield Premium will land you a number of content drops with unique in-game items not available anywhere else," a description of the service revealed.
"First out is the one-of-a-kind Premium knife and black dog tag, plus a set of soldier camos, weapon camos, dog tags and Assignments that will make sure you stand out and get more personalization options."
The report also lists a number of other dates for Battlefield content, including word of an as-yet unnanounced fifth expansion.
Upcoming indoor-shooting fest Close Quarters will arrive 12th June, followed by extra "bonus content" in August, third expansion Armored Kill in the autumn and fourth expansion End Game this winter.
The untitled fifth expansion is apparently due to launch in March 2013.
