Great deal, but no brown brogues in my size.
Thanks for the post, OP.

Probably not the look/style you were looking for.
Suede is high-maintenance leather.

Does anyone know the difference between EVA vs. PU outsoles? I don't like any outsole or heel that needs to be re-soled or re-heeled every 18 months.

Alright, checking back. Got myself a pair of black leather Desert Boots, $160 originally, down to $80 with the 50% off deal. Because this pre-tax amount exceeded $75, they threw in a gift card that will allow me to take $25 off my next purchase of $100+. This card is good until December 24. Wish it lasted longer than that, because I hardly ever shop at The Bay. In fact, this is my first purchase there in many years.
Gonna try wearing these Desert Boots around, and I have until January 15 to make a return.
I took a few pics of my new acquisition, but realized I don't have imaging software on this new computer and I am aching for Photoshop.
I'll try and post pics later.
Pretty happy with this deal. Thanks OP!

Not a fan of the leather desert boots (I believe they're black?) to be honest - unless you got the waxed leather ones. The suede or waxed leather ones are the nicest, imo.

I don't think they'll take them back after you've worn them around.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the $25 off $100 gift card after purchase?

In store: Immediately.
Online: Comes with your shipment.

I might wear them around the house then, just to get a feel for them and start breaking them in.

You're supposed to receive it when you pay for your item(s). The card is active between December 7-24, 2012. So it has a 2.5 week lifespan.

Nah, just wrap your shoes in shopping bags when you go outside - they'll never know.

Really with the shipment?? That sucks!
I wanted to buy two pairs of shoes.
1) At $75 and pay for it with HBC credit card (to receive free shipping)
2) Buy a second pair I wanted for $75 then spend another $25 in merchandise and apply the gift card to receive those items free.

Just read the fine print. Not redeemable for online purchases. There goes that idea.

Even if they email you the card (the code is really all you need), you still wouldn't be able to use it (even in-store) to buy a second pair because the card excludes One-day Sales.
