Sounds like a 5N or C3 or F3 open box... wondering why they would throw in warranty if it's a new and current model.

How?
I always ask for an extra discount on the item when buying their extended warranty. It has worked on all my purchases

I wish there was more I can say

Went to BB at Cambie today and got my $50 back! $529 is definitely a good deal for this camera. I saw that they still have a couple open box there.

Thanks OP! Picked one up with 4 year warranty..probably gonna cancel the warranty though as I already get the extra year from my credit card. I'm amazed at the features this camera has!

Keep it and enjoy, that's a great deal all around. However if you find the 55-210 for $270 or less let me know ;)
I was able to pick one up from best buy, but I wonder if it's more worth it to pick up the combo from Henry's. Or put that extra money toward different lenses. decisions, decisions.

This is a great deal. It is basically the Nikon D7000's aps-c sized sensor which is made by Sony. High ISO at 3200 is comparable. My Canon 40D now gathers dust since I got my NEX5N 1 year ago.

It has been mentioned that that 16mm is not that great which is true. (it's soft in the corners until F8) BUT, it is a fun lens and adding the fisheye converter is really fun & cheap. You'll get decent pictures with this combo the effect is great in tight spaces/in a city full of buildings.

Main improvements of 5R over 5N:
- Wifi apps
- new faster hybrid phase detect autofocus
- screen now swivels 180 degrees so you can take pictures of yourself
- 1 extra external dial to adjust settings

Got a question for you guys.

How does this compare with something like the Canon T3i or T4i?

Is this a totally wrong comparison? Only reason I ask is prices are close. I prefer the smaller size of the sony.

Will it make much difference for an amateur? I have used the T3i before and was amazed at the pictures it could take, especially when moving in a car.
