Went to BB at Cambie today and got my $50 back! $529 is definitely a good deal for this camera. I saw that they still have a couple open box there.

This is a great deal. It is basically the Nikon D7000's aps-c sized sensor which is made by Sony. High ISO at 3200 is comparable. My Canon 40D now gathers dust since I got my NEX5N 1 year ago.
It has been mentioned that that 16mm is not that great which is true. (it's soft in the corners until F8) BUT, it is a fun lens and adding the fisheye converter is really fun & cheap. You'll get decent pictures with this combo the effect is great in tight spaces/in a city full of buildings.
Main improvements of 5R over 5N:
- Wifi apps
- new faster hybrid phase detect autofocus
- screen now swivels 180 degrees so you can take pictures of yourself
- 1 extra external dial to adjust settingsLast edited by soupnazi; Jan 2nd, 2013 at 01:58 PM.

Got a question for you guys.
How does this compare with something like the Canon T3i or T4i?
Is this a totally wrong comparison? Only reason I ask is prices are close. I prefer the smaller size of the sony.
Will it make much difference for an amateur? I have used the T3i before and was amazed at the pictures it could take, especially when moving in a car.
