Not to ruin the moment, currently only Telus is selling the BBRY Passport as far as I know, I don't think they've declared they've sold out. Shopblackberry had some stock (500-1000 maybe), they've sold out. No other Canadian carrier is selling it until next week. This isn't a big Samsung or Apple launch.

Carriers are reluctant to roll this out in large volume due to many past experiences that have gone sour and you only have independents moving hardware in very small volume. Volumes in general will be ultra low for this I suspect. If there's uptake it will ramp up.

True test is for us to wait a month or so and see what the early sales figures state.

I played with one today at a local Telus store. It's a powerhouse of a device, but I don't think I'll grab one. Woman in the store said they haven't sold one yet and claimed it would only cater to a specific niche market (business user).

There are some wacky listings on eBay. Selling for over 1K.

Suprised they sold out that quick, only telus is carrying them currently. Oct 1 is when all other carriers get it, definitely going to telus to play with it before I pony up the cash.

Specs, OS, RAM, Quad-Core processor etc. It's a powerhouse like no other BB before it (IMO)

yea he said 200,000 orders, not units made, not units shipped, just orders, which doesn't mean anything at all

it could be that rogers + bell + ATT are "ordering" 100,000 units combined

edit: looks like this from news today:

One point to note: BlackBerry had been talking up its device “sellouts” online at Amazon and its own store, but the fact that it’s also revealing that it had presumably less than 200,000 units to go around to satisfy initial demand means the accomplishment isn’t necessarily indicative of resounding success.

doesn't sound like demand is high or company is confident or whatsoever, they just didn't make a lot of the them at all
