Toshiba makes the worst TVs.....so many weird problems..

Great example - bought a 40" Toshiba a couple of yrs ago and the darn TV infrared receiver would interfere with the Rogers HD box...so you essentially couldn't change the channel on the Rogers box...no matter where you put the box...Unless it was like 30ft away from the TV...

I have no idea on the reliability of this toshiba tv, but it's a really good price, especially if you are able to get the free chromecast offer with it that best buy has for toshiba tvs. If I had the chance, I would check it out in-store, but I don't live close enough. I've heard that Toshiba has lost a lot of money this year though and are cutting a lot of jobs. IIRC, they might be stopping making tv's in north america?

My sis still has her 43" Samsung plasma that she bought from bestbuy at boxing day for $299 a few years ago.

If I know what tv I want, I'd buy online. Then you don't have to get up early in the morning and deal with crazy people lining up. The best buy sale starts in a few hours online.

Have nothing but good things to say about Toshiba TVs and Toshiba warranty services. Just note that Toshiba is exiting the TV market in NA.
If you have a big enough car to take it back then its a no brainer.

I think this tv was $400 at Costco in the summer then it got down to ~$380 at Costco, so at $250 I believe it is a good deal - though I would have preferred to buy from Costco for the 90 day return and 2 year warranty.

When the Best Buy website was working (they've closed it until the sale starts), right beside the add to cart button for the tv there was an offer with toshiba tv's listed. The offer for this particular toshiba tv included a new 2nd gen chromecast for free. You needed to add both the Chromecast (you could click and add it to the cart in the side panel from the toshiba tv page. I think that explanation makes sense) and the tv to get the chromecast for free. I have no idea if this offer will be applicable for this boxing day deal though, but something to keep an eye on. The only other thing I was worrying about is if the tv would go out of stock online before I could add both to the cart. Maybe they would have mentioned the deal in the boxing day flyer if they were actually going to offer it.

Is this a good deal ?
I was thinking to get that Tv too! Now by reading the comments here, I am not sure! Vision has a deal for LG 43" 1080P 60HZ 5400 SERIES LED TV; for $398. Is it a better one than Toshiba?
Thanks
