Looks like a decent deal to me. Regular $1299
I think these Toshiba notebooks are always more expensive, not sure if they really worth their price.

it was $999 with free Sony 256M MP3 player few weeks ago at Futureshop and then FS and BB had it for $899.

The $899 one was the 256MB, 40GB HD, and the non-Brite screen.
I saw this one in FS. Looked real good.

Did u guys happen to read the features on this notebook? It says optical drive sold separately.....no wonder it's so cheap.

uh...it says in the features that it has a dvd burner...
Even if you go to toshiba.ca, they say there's a optical drive.
Don't get mislead by what BB or FS write...they miss stuff...
I bought this for grandparents...nice laptop especially with the TruBrite.
hdd is a little slow, but i'm just comparing it with 7200rpm
