You're title, as usual, is misleading. The street racer in this story didn't kill anybody, notwithstanding that the RCMP accurately states that he is legally responsible for the actions of the two guys that were racing with him.

A Merritt man has been forced to forfeit his 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck to the Crown after pleading guilty to dangerous operation of a vehicle in an alleged street race that claimed the lives of his two friends in another vehicle, the RCMP said yesterday.
The incident occurred when friends in two separate vehicles were driving to a cabin in Merritt in what police say was a street race on June 26, 2006. Two men in a 1982 Subaru lost control on an S-curve and crashed, killing them both.
Jonathan Randall Stubbs, 26, of Merritt pleaded guilty to dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and was given an 18-month conditional sentence, 18 months of probation and an 18-month driving prohibition.
Anyone in a street race "can be held indirectly responsible for the consequences of the driving behaviour of other vehicles involved in the race," said Insp. Mike Arnold of the RCMP's Integrated Proceeds of Crime Unit.Last edited by st7860; Oct 8th, 2008 at 12:09 PM.

Having a reading comprehension problem?
The title is still misleading because the 'BC street racer' who is the subject of this story, didn't kill anyone.Originally Posted by Nikita

He is 'deemed' responsible, but he didn't kill anyone.
