found a deal on netgear WNDR4000 and thinking of upgrading my router of 6yrs (wrt + tomato/mlppp).
the WNDR4000 is listed in ddwrt device support page using v.24 SP2 - build 17201 - 20110614, will I be able use mlppp (single link only to bypass circumvention) with ddwrt firmware? I would love to take advantge of QoS feature in this firmware

if the device is a supported ddwrt device then the answer is yes.
flashing to this device is different from model to model so be sure you read the ddwrt wiki for this model.

I have Teksavvy CABLE service, is there a way to eliminate Throttling on that? I see you mentioned Rogers but did not see a tutorial for Rogers.

Has Bell removed throttling? I am hoping they do so soon.
Infamouskid, besides circumventing throttling and bonding DSL lines together, have you used MLPPP for anything else? Just curious as I dropped this temporarily while upgrading to the Teksavvy 16 Mbps DSL service. Thanks!

Throttling at its best. Upgraded to 16 Mbps today and dropped MLPPP feature to test the waters but BT is now slow as ...

same as the mentioned info above. no special tutorial needed. just load up the firmware and turn on mlppp.

faster profile will not mean faster throttled p2p.

Download has been wonky. This morning at around 6am, one file was downloading at 1.2 Mb/s. But overnight, speed was negligible and two file downloads were dropped (like due to BT poisoning). There doesn't seem to be a pattern but likely there is throttling. Will see in a month or two if I will need to resubscribe to the MLPPP.

Throttling coming to an end ???
Today first of March, both Bell and Rogers promised to stop throttling.

I am with Teksavvy (Bell network) with MLPPP. To check this, I replaced my WRT54GL with Tp link TL-WR841ND with stock firmware (No Tomato, No DD-WRT). Restarted everything and downloaded well seeded torrents during peak hours in the afternoon at different times.
Results; I could reach peak speed possible(500Mbps) with my connection very easily.
Although it is too early to make final conclusion, but it seems that Bell stopped throttling. Similar feedbacks from different locations and different times could confirm this.

Thanks for the update. How did you get blazing fast Internet at 60 MB/sec?

Seems. Like past 2 am, torrents are being throttled. I was only getting 400KB/sec after my usenet download completed around 1 am. Early morning, it was down to 200+ though usenet was at full speed around 1.2-3 MB/sec.

regardless of what you ppl are hearing rogers and bell are still throttling.
it will take time before they can remove any DPI hardware and regardless of that.

I think Bell reversed the BT throttling period to coincide with what is off-peak, at least based on torrent download speed overnight (before and after 2am). I checked data usage on my WRTGL router.
It does make sense to throttle during off-peak since they probably make less money from distributors during that period.
