Too bad it's not the Four Star II, I have some of the Four Star II. Would have ordered it in a heartbeat.

I went in store and ordered with them from the kiosk... I've done that before with online items without an issue - free shipping to the house too!

As I stated above, you go in store and have somebody order it for you. And they can apply the coupon. You can talk to any person and they'll do it for you. The coupons are all the same, flyer or email, it doesn't matter. Has to be in stock of course, which now seems like it isn't
Thanks. It's good to know for future purchases. I only wish I had a BBB store close to where I live (the closest one is a 30-min drive for me).

Sure.. or Pro set :) Four Star II is usually much more expensive than Four Star. Expect to pay at least 1.5-2 times what this set costs.

According to the OEM, the difference between the II and I is just the design of the handle. The blades (and the metal that goes into them) are the same.

There's really no reason for it other than the handle. The 4-stars all use the same blade with the same metal. The pros use the same metal for their blades.

Yes, I'm just picky with it, wanted to match my other knives. :)

This is a great set, especially for $200 minus 20%. Should last you years and years, if you take care of it.

the 8-pc 5 star set is on sale for 269.99... what is the difference between the 5-star and the 4-star lines?
RFD does not save you money, it makes you buy things you never realized that you needed at a decent price.

The handle is different. 5-star knives have curved handles. As far as I know, that's it.

Yep.. I like the look of handles of Four Star II knives better as well even though they are not likely to be more convenient or more functional. They just look nicer in a block. :) Do I want to pay a few hundred $$ because of that?.. Not likely :)

Decades... My brother has been using his for 30 years now - sharpened by one once... I would say that the rate of wear, he has another 40 years left or so!

That's correct.
