Beef $2 per lb! (Alberta)
Hi, I am not sure if I can post this as a Hot Deal but to be safe I thought that I would post it here.
My family has owned and operated a mixed farm in northern AB for a long time (~100 years). Thanks to the beef crisis they have alot of good beef that is not worth very much despite what the grocery stores will tell you!
Therefore I am advertising for them. I figure they can give you a good deal , while still making a (little) profit themselves.
To keep things simple, the minimum that they want to sell is a 1/2 animal (~350lbs), but that is not really that much if you split it with a couple of friends. This includes all cuts that come with the 1/2 including steak (tenderloin, sirloin, round etc), roasts (round, chuck, tenderloin, etc), and hamburger. Everything is, inspected and cut to your specification by a quality butcher that our family has used for 25+ years.
As the title says they are asking only $2 per pound! That is cheaper than you pay for just hamburger in the store, let alone for steak... check it out!
Unfortunatly since we are both located in Alberta, this deal is mainly restricted to the province, since we include shipping to Calgary and S. Ab in the price!
PM me for more details or to place an order!

Man, if I lived out west, I would be all over this. After a big bbq, it would be a real HOT Deal!!
Seriously though, good luck selling. Alberta farmers have been getting killed by our stupid government not standing up to the US on the border being closed because of one case of BSE.

This is definitely a good deal for anyone interested. Just keep in mind you'll need a mid to full size freezer.
Typically from a side of beef you'll get about 60 lbs of hamburger, lots of roasts and steaks with just about every conceivable cut, brisket, stewing beef, liver, etc. A side of beef can feed a family for about a year to 18 months (depending on number of people, etc).
I would jump on this one in a heartbeat! Out of curiosity, what kind of cattle? We raised registered limos...

Nov 17th, 2004 03:06 PM #5it used to be all simmental but recently I think that they have been trying to breed in either Herford or Limo but I can't quite remember. It has been a while since I was seriously involved in "farm talk"
