Isnt the general concesus is that these are a waste of money? they are nothing more than glorified surge protectors.

I have the PF30. It's a really nice looking powerbar. Honestly can't say if it does anything.

I prefer a UPS, it at least allows you to power down your equipment properly when a power outage happens.
I personaly run two APC J15BLK for everything on my server rackLast edited by delavoie; Jan 25th, 2013 at 03:30 PM.

UPS and this does different things. Generally not a good idea to hookup your AV equipment to UPS, you can google it.
The main idea behind these devices is to provide a clean power signal to your AV devices, weather it works or not, it really depends on your eyes and ears.

if you are getting a connected equipment insurance from a $15 belkin / apc surge protector. why do you need to get a more expensive power bar / conditioner? That's if Belkin / Apc/ Monster actually honors that insurance. Did any of you try to make a successful claim?

Yep.
http://forums.redflagdeals.com/dell-...134-a-1140920/
Been waiting to get one myself.
These are power conditioners which isolates groups of outlets so electronic noise from one device won't travel to another. Excess A/C noise can affect sound/video quality, especially higher-end equipment that is usually more sensitive._______________
You read it. You can't unread it.

I had one of these and after a while it stopped working.....it actually locked up after I pressed power ON and wouldn’t turn off (the display would go to full brightness with all the indicators lit up including “grounding error”….I would have to unplug it to reset it!)
Keep in mind that this is basically a really fancy surge protector. It has some nice features like programmable delay but overall I would prefer to buy something like the APC H10 which also has Auto Voltage Regulation (my house voltage can dip below 105V in the summer with A/C and my TV/electronics all turned on)Last edited by warpdrive; Jan 25th, 2013 at 04:28 PM.
