I called today and asked to cancel my service. They asked why; I said because it will be cheaper to go to Rogers. The rep said "ok, your service will be terminated in 30 days" and that was that. No offers made.

They called me back within 3 business days and offered 30% off for 12 months, so make sure to pick up...hopefully.

Does anyone know when/if Bell will start carrying Sportsnet One? I'm a little pissed that I am going to have to miss a bunch of Flames games because of this.

I hope they don't and it forces Sportsnet to shut down the new channel. They already have 4 regional Sportsnet channels to show content on. Why should we pay for an extra channel so that they can now spread the same content over 5 channels?

Then you're going to be out of luck. The number usually shows up as 1-888-759-3474 or some variation of that number. Last time they called me the number showed up as 887-593-474 which I thought was odd.

Same here...cancelled and no call back. I'm going to continue waiting until around day 30. I may succumb.

They called me back...I was able to get 30% off for 12 months going forward and also was offered retro active application for the 3 months I had paid at regular price.

I called twice. First time, I got this girl (caucasion) who was quite nice but wouldn't give me more than a $10/month discount. I told her I would think about it and call back later. I called back today and lo and behold, they offered me a 30% discount! I got this guy (sounded Indian), who was new because he didn't really know what to do and was fumbling through his script but was also pretty nice.

I told him that another company was offering me promotions to join them. He put me on hold and came back and told me he could match it.

My BEV bill after taxes is about $75 and he mentioned that since I was a long time customer (8 years), they wanted to keep me.

So it's definitely YMMV. From the sounds of things in this thread lately, I think I was lucky.

FYI - i just called Bell's expressVu retention today and got 20% off for 1 yr.

I have been with them for over 3-4 years and currently pay $94 (+tax) for HD programming.. it's pretty heavy but i was happy with 20% off.

So, I suppose when it comes to bell I actually have to call them up instead of using their online chat. I've tried three times to deal with an online CSR and got no where with them. I said I was considering moving all my rogers services to bell and was getting 20% off services, pvr, and extra channels (which I was). In the last conversation, the chat lady gave me this crap about a free pvr and one terminal for free, but no discount and a crap promotion of 2 months of a movie package. All junk found on their website. When I told her I was also looking for a discount with everything she said my 'bundle' would add up to $5 in savings. I ended the chat right there. So, I guess you have to call them in order to get the deals.
