Thanks to the OP!
I was able to get 30% off programming for a year. I already have a purchased 9200 that has been acting up, they are replacing with a 9242 under warranty.
Sounds good to me and I didn't have to sign up for ANY term since I was not getting a "free" rental receiver (no HD for 6 months though). Awesome!

Got this deal too.
It actually works out to a savings of 62%!
Before:
HD programming: 10
Digital Standard: 31
Hindi Combo: 25
5 Themes: 20
DSF Fee: 3
Rental 6100 10
Rental 3100 3
Total 102 + tax = $112.20
Now:
HD Programming: 0
Digital Standard: 31
Hindi Combo: 25
5 Themes: 20
DSF Fee: 3
Rental 9242 0
Rental 3100 3
Total 82 - 40% = 49.2 + tax = $54.12
54.12/112.20 = 48.2%!

anyone have any problems where some stations don't work at times? they say error or no signal?
this is with or without hd, just a bell question.
i got my pvr setup today, i swear the guy didn't know what he was doing, took him 4 hours, i was with bell before so he only had to run a new wire to one room and set up the exterior switches.
i got the 6 months of free HD also, does anyone know if they is for all hd channels, besides movie channels, i get fox, abc, nbc on standard but i don't on hd, only ctv, cbc sports net...?
thanks

Next time it goes down, go into the installation menu and check your signal strength. Flip through the transponders to see which ones are getting a signal. Take note if it's just the odd number or even number transponders that are down.
It could be the switch, LNB or wiring. I'd start diagnosing in that order. Run a Check Switch first.

I know the title says "HD Retention", but has anyone called to get a retention package who doesn't currently have an HD package and does not want HD programming going forward ? I have only 5 theme packages and Fairchild so my total bill is only about 60 bucks with 2 standard 3100 receivers.
My first call only resulted in 20% off my bill, anyone else with a relatively small bill get 30 or 40% off ?

Thanks op.
Just got:
-9242 free 1yr
-$100 credit ,bill is $40/Month so it works out to roughly 20% off. Originally only offered 10% but asked for more. I believe the higher percentages are for larger monthly bills.
-6 months free hd.
No contract.

My expressview bill is now 56$ amonth. I have no hd and have 2 2700 and 2 3100 hooked up.
I called the retention center at bell claimind Videotron called with a good offer and I was considering going over.
Best she would offer me was 20% off and a pvr rental free for a year. I said I would think about it in hope they may call with a better offer.

Have a 9200 and a 5900, I own both, so rental deals are of no use to me, but I did get 40% off for 12 months, no contract, no obligation. Reduced my bill by $37.00 per month, plus taxes. Not too bad for a 4 minute phone call.
