Hey I got the 30% off free pvr and free 6 months hd. Not bad and they had to do the install. I also bought the pvr from the source so I am set for a long time.

Just got my first bill after getting free HD etc., the bill is all frakked up. I did not get all of the discounts, I got charged for HD receiver rental, etc. Instead of staying about the same with free HD, my bill doubled. I called Bell, very polite CSR, told me that the retention department will get everything fixed up in 3-6 weeks. If they don't get it all fixed to my satisfaction, I am switching, Bell's incompetence amazes even me, one who works with incompetent people daily - literally...
Watch for the $100 deposit they charge for HD, they charge your credit card $105 (including tax) but only give you a credit for $100 on the bill. The CSR argued that by reducing my bill by $100, I get full benefits for $105 as I didnt have to pay for tax on the first $100. I says "NO", the way Bell has their bills, the credit is applied against after tax amounts; so we lose out on the $5. He did not argue at all after I said no, I think they know the accounting is wrong. Watch out for this.Last edited by Tumster; Mar 27th, 2009 at 11:22 AM.

This is a short story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about this, because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

I find that hard to believe not less you already had the receiver in question. If this is a new "rental", they'd have to send out a tech to install (as they have to do with every new "rental" - and need you to stay for a minimum amount of time). I really doubt anyone can get a new rental WITHOUT signing a contract.
If you think you did, try canceling as I'm sure you'll be surprised when Bell bills you the ETF (early termination fee).
