CRTC had to approve these increases blame them as well
No they don't. The CRTC has nothing to do with what Bell charges their own customers, they only regulate the wholesale rates that IISP's pay to the incumbents.

So I just tried to cancel my Bell Internet to get TekSavvy, but keep my Bell Fibe because... programming. And Rogers service sucks in my building (had a tech guy there every couple of months).
Same thing here, canceled home phone and internet but was going to go down to basic tv, Bell told me I can't keep TV - screw them, I just got an antenna put up and get 25+ channels.

Fibe Gigabit Ethernet with unlimited 1000/100 service
...
The Gigabit internet is $76...
Wait, Bell FTTH GB Fiber is only $76? and unlimited? Is this a deal or something? If so, no point going 3PL, just go Bell.

Yeah, that makes no sense. I was on a trial gigabyte program in my area and it was $75 for a year while they got it up and running. Now it's $135 a month and I have ftth. I'll switch to bell for that price!

FYI, the reason you can't keep Fibe TV without internet is because Fibe TV is IPTV (i.e. Internet TV).

Bell gigabyte fibe is $150 a month according to the rep I just talked to. They cannot find the promo package that EugW was talking about. The good TV is $52 plus the add on, the home phone lite is $42 so the total is around $255ish, $285 with tax. What is that, a 60% discount???

Yeah, pretty much.

The promo price I have for Gigabit is $99.95 (even though regular is $150) minus a $24 discount.
The price I have for Good TV is $56.95 minus a $25 discount, and minus a $7 bundling discount. ($56.95 is the Feb. 1 price, which is what I was quoted. Not the older lower price.)
The price I have for Home phone Lite is $41.45 minus a $41.44 discount, so it's effectively free.
And then there is a $3 digital service fee.

Total ~$104 before tax, so yeah a HUGE discount. I'm happy. Then I have a few add-ons on top of that bringing the price up a bit, but it's still below $120 before tax.

There is a thread on how to get it in the Ongoing Deal Discussion forum, but it's for new customers, not existing ones. Note, some people haven't gotten quite as good of a deal, but a few people have gotten an even better deal, so YMMV. However, if you're an existing TV or internet customer, you won't get this deal. Note, because of some of my add-ons, I do have to pay a $50 installation fee, but others have been able get the entire install fee waived as well.

BTW, it's Gigabit, not Gigabyte.

Not a bell customer, that was the second post in this thread and the rep on the phone still couldn't come within $50 of your price. Congrats on your superb negotiation skills. And I'll be sure to fix that pesky autocorrect on my mobile for gigabit.

You need to read the thread I mentioned in the other forum. This deal will not be offered to you by most of the reps. I too tried calling a couple of times and it was useless. Then I read the thread, and that's when I was able to get the deal.

What would be the set of keywords to hit up that thread on top search result:) Thanks.

Bell has to pay for the infrastructure maintenance/upgrade. Not to mention the big 2020 plan the CRTC has for Canada...

But Bell rather make the consumer pay and get $$ from the government
