Is it a 2 year contract? Does the plan change in any way after the 2 years?

It's a 2 year contract. To my knowledge, price is unlikely to change during contract, however can't about past 2 years.

Unfortunately no, you keep paying the extra $5 over the equivalent BYOD plan. If you don't want or need the A20, it's better to opt for the $40/6GB BYOD version of the plan.

I know how it works with Virgin mobile. When you go to store, a screen pops up when they type your number and open up multiple options (BYOP, SILVER and GOLD PLAN choices). It may not be same with Bell but hopefully, multiple offers. You can give a try.

But maybe your dad is better off saving $10 per month...unless he needs the 6GB. Most older folks don't need that much data.

The text I got said $30/2gb and there was no phone offered.

What happens if you want to ditch Bell before the contract is up? I thought contracts were no longer allowed for phone plans?

Nope, they didn't ban contracts, they put a cap of 2 years on them.
Koodo 8GB UL T&T @ $45 (ported in from Public Mobile)
ASUS Zenfone 3 Zoom @ $299 / Certified Pre-Owned Huawei P20 @ $240 / Huawei P20 + Huawei Watch GT @ $240

If there was no phone offered, it's a BYOD plan, and you can leave anytime.

I think you can just ask them. If they can offer you $45/6GB with a phone, then there should be a BYOD plan in their system for $5 less. At least that was the case with Virgin. I'd would be surprised if Bell didn't have something equivalent.

Has anyone ever received a Lucky to Bell offer which included a phone? I don't want a BYOD plan.
