[Bell Mobility] End of Smartphone level hardware subsidy

I was exploring Bell's pricing @ Wireless Wave's website. I just noticed that the Smartphone level no longer carries any hardware subsidy. It has phones priced at the No Term Contract rate. However Voice & Text plans still offer a $150 hardware subsidy.

Who knows. Afaik Bell Smartphone plan is loosely equivalent to say Virgin Gold or Fido/Koodo Medium. To say phones aren't available for subsidy on that tier means they could...
  1. Grandfather the tier...anyone on that tier who want a new phone would have to change plans
  2. Leave it open and bring new offers on that tier later

TBH, I don't think Bell cares too much to compete on that tier since most customers who fall in that mid-range niche likely flock to the subbies for better deals.
