Groupon regularly has a *similar* Benihana deal for approximately $100 less, with the savings you could make up for the slight difference in appetizer and dessert.

That is a lot of money for dinner for 2. People who can afford that are probably not on RFD. Is there a "High price forum" to put this in.

Is the appetizer and dessert the only difference between the Groupon deal and this?

IMHO, This place is terrible. Not sure why people pay so much here to begin with.

Thanks for sharing the deal for those whom for some reason enjoy it, but I definitely do not !

Seconded, sort of.
I would say our experience at the Toronto location was slightly “depressing” also. The decor/lighting/ambiance is super old school, and is very dated. It doesn’t help that they are in the basement of the royal york.

I've been told that most everyone on RFD earns at least 6 figures, owns multiple properties, and has access to a fleet of luxury cars at their disposal
Not only did we embarrass Marky Mark, we let down the Funky Bunch.

And you believe that, no wonder you think this $200 dinner for 2 is a hot deal.

iirc the appetizers for the groupon deal were:
Karaage chicken
Some type of Maki sushi
Something else possibly?

Dessert was ice cream and maybe something else

The soup, vegetables and entrees were all the same with the exception of the scallops (which I don’t believe were an option on the groupon menu)

Definitely not worth the $100 difference IMO

Do yourselves a favour and go to Yamato in yorkville instead. (especially for lunch where the value proposition is so good)

Yamato is seriously much much better than Benihana

Prefer Akasaka for teppanyaki. For $200, you can get way better stuff than what they are offering. Downtown premium I guess.

Even Katsura at The Westin Prince is better than this.
