I understand your "joke", but in reality, Japanese media are barely even moving past 8x... They're still hesitant to make 16x's, at least that's the case for Taiyo Yuden - they're still reseraching it. And up to this point, they're still making 4x media.

I guess I missed something... but how do you tell if the maxells are MIJ or MIT??

and which is better?

there's a sticker on the spindle that says "Made in Taiwan" or "Made in Japan"
I saw a few left at Walmart in STC. Most are MIT though, only saw a few MIJ.
