We like the Altec Lansing Life Jacket II - the Bose is good as well.

Like the Life Jacket better though.

I'm surprised that none suggested the UE Boom2 Thumbs Up Sign
Right!?

Wait until Boxing Day when it always goes on sale. Last year, it was on sale for $150. Regular price is $250. Buy it from The Source and use the sign-up coupon and you have UE Boom 2s for only $125.

I picked up the JBL charge2+ at costco a few weeks back. Pairs easily and sound is great. I didn't compare - figured Costco would just have the best price and I wanted JBL.

The UE boom 2 has no bass extension at all. If size matters enough to require something as small as the UE boom, then the JBL Flip 4 is a better buy. It sounds light years better than the boom 2 and for less money too.

Saw alot of does sound box xl reviews on YouTube. Sound is great but people say it's cheap Chinese made.
There's obviously going to be sacrifices when you're paying $119 for a speaker that sounds similar to one that sells for $300. But with that being said, it appears to be much better quality than typical AliExpress junk from China. Doss even claims the AC adaptor is certified to CSA and UL safety standards. That's something you never see on noname chinese products.
