Don't install HID into halogen housing because light will disperse in all direction. I've been blinded by ricers with their brightest HID on halogen. Really hazardous for other drivers.
Osram Night Breakers are really powerful white lights. Take a look here
PS: I just placed order for H7 Osram Night Breaker, I'll post picture for comparison once I get the bulb.Last edited by nasatwoburn; Nov 14th, 2009 at 11:25 AM.

Just keep your high beams on, perfect for cheap idiots who want to blind every other driver on the road

Edit title
Oops, wrong title. i'm just looking for head lights that give me better visibility ie, softer blue color light and longer distance, not necessary very bright that i'll blind other drivers. the reason is when i turn either into left or right lane, i can't see much untill i get very close. it's not very safe to drive at all if you can't see properly.

I helped change my Aunt's 02 Camry to Sylvannia Silverstars bulbs. It does improve it, slightly brighter, but definitely whiter (original bulbs were yellowish).
So yes, I'd recommend them, bought them from Canadian Tire.

Installation charge?? If you are talking just changing the bulb, do it yourself ! Look at your car manual and follow it. Camry's are dead easy. Open hood, Twist, pull out, unclip bulb.
Clip in new bulb, push in, twist, close hood. Done.
Toyota's are so much easier to change bulbs than my Honda/Acuras !!_______________

What an ignorant comment. I wonder if the rest of your 700+ posts have a similar tone... and guess what, a brief scan of them says that they do. If you have something positive to contribute to the question being posed then do so, otherwise don't bother posting.
To the OP, check out the Philips Blue Vision bulbs.
Also a good store to purchase bulbs from is:

Good luck.Last edited by Teletran; Nov 14th, 2009 at 12:16 PM.

Make sure you install your lights correctly (DOWN) ...
Huge pet peeve is when people's lights are blinding me, due to a bad install.
Oh and I'll let you know

HIR yes R not D
HIR bulbs put out more lumens compared to the other high output Halogens, and have much longer expected lifespan also_______________

you didnt sense any sarcasm in his post?
from my experience these coated bulbs have had poor experience. any coating on the bulb is only going to hinder the output from what a normal 55/70w bulb may throw. depending on the housing, some cars can take an hid pnp kit without any problems. you have some cars like the mini with horrible optics so to say that every halogen cant accept a pnp kit because of glare is a bit of a generalization.

According to the candlepower forums, Toshiba has permanently discontinued the HIR bulbs as of the start of this year. They had a problem with a high rate of defects. Philips has taken over the contracts and are introducing a replacement bulb that is non-HIR..
Once the remaining Toshiba HIR stock is depleted, it sounds like the whole technology will disappear unless some chinese company takes over the production line.
