[Best Buy] (1832$) Sony 55" 4K UHD HDR LED Android Smart TV (XBR55X900E) [PM with amazon.ca]

Amazon currently has the XBR55X900E at 1,848.00. Honestly looks like a price mistake to me.
Normally 2500$, Best Buy has it at 2000$ on sale. I was on the lookout for this TV so to me this is a great deal. rtings.com liked this set.
Price match brings the 55" set down to 1832$ before tax

Best Buy is inconsistent with their Price Match Policy. As of late, they have been refusing to Price Match Amazon and other online retailers only. Did you actually successfully get the PM done at Best Buy in-store?

Just go with the amazon.ca price...reward the company that is giving you the better price without hassle.
Plus with BB you need to factor in shipping of $50 if buying online.
Not worth the hassle of saving ~$15 MAXIMUM.
(just my two cents here)

That looks like a pretty good price. It's also rtings.com best set for the price range that it's in.

I grabbed a 55 and 65 Sony 900e yesterday at the Toronto Laird best buy.

They had the $530 package of delivery, wall mount and installation included for each tv i.e $1,060. I said I didn't need any of that and they initially said that it is a refund from Sony directly so they can't do anything on price. Then I got the supervisor and the manager involved (told them that they are stealing MY money from Sony) and ended up getting an extra $600 cash off (a further $300 per tv - a thin, flush tilting and swinging wall mount for the 55 and 3 years of warranty included on both tvs. To make it work they actually priced the 55 at $1420 and the 65 at $2520 and took $100 off against the wall mount seperately and then added the 3year warranty.... They made it work such that I got the entire $1,060 of value on top on the already $500 off on each tv.

I abused them (in a nice way) for 30 minutes to get this... Good luck!

Don't believe BestBuy's (or anywhere else's) inflated regular prices for the x900e. I've been watching this TV for a little while.

The regular price for the 55" is $1999: http://www.sony.ca/en/electronics/telev ... 00E-Series

The amazon sale price is not bad though considering it's still a brand new model.

The regular price for the 55 is 2499 and for the 65 3499. Pricing is set by Sony, not the stores. Sony will yank the product if retail doesn't comply. The 900 series was marked down 500 across the board just over a week ago. We shall see if it stays there. What best buy did for me should not have been allowed. I effectively got the 55 for 1750 and the 65 for 2750 then the 3 year warranty and wall mount for free with the way they manipulated their POS system.... That is beacuse if the delivery and setup deal that Sony has arranged with best buy - no one else has this arrangement, I checked). This is much better than the Amazon deal which is for sure a pricing error.

I also have a 940D (75"). I tried most of the comparable TVs including the sharp 75" in another thread here. The scaling on that tv and the lg sets is garbage. I returned the sharp after 3 days, the live sports was so bad. Given that most content you will watch will be upscaled, the Sony just blows the others away.

Siinvestor, good deal, but did you end up paying about 5000 + tax? If so, that would mean you are paying 2000 + 3000 for the TVs (the sale prices at most places this week) and they are throwing in the $1,060 worth of delivery, mounts, and installation for free. Which would be a good deal.

I still have my eye on the XBR65X900E but didn't want to pay 3000 (3200 - 3500 a few weeks ago) will wait for Black Friday or Boxing day, guessing it will be 2,500 then and I might buy. In the meantime I got a $1000 XBR55X700D (2016 lower model that has already had a full year of price reductions). I have a mount but doing the mount installation & putting cables in walls etc is not gonna be fun. Probably going to get days of back pain from working in the crawl space fishing cables. If I later get the 65" I'll move the 55" to a room where it replaces a 40".

Check Sony's own website. It's $1999.99 and it's constantly on sale for that price on BestBuy and other places like Amazon.

Why would Sony put a cheaper suggested price on their own website if that wasn't the case??

For adams7. I managed to get 600 in cash out of them. The other 460 was applied against the 3 year warranty and the mounting bracket. So, 600 cash, and another 430 in credit. I am picking up the tvs though. If I had them deliver then I wouldn't have been able to get the mounting bracket and 3 year warranties because they said I was going to far.... Haha
