If you are playing Dragon Age, its fine.

'Gaming' is a catch all for mountain dew infused twitch game addicts. That represents about 10% of 'gamers' these days.

So far the monitor is great. It is quite bare bones in terms of features but thats fine for the price you are paying. The stand is not height adjustable but it is a solid piece of metal and is really sturdy. The screen itself is quite bright and colour accuracy is quite good. I also managed to overclock the refresh rate to around 73hz. Been using it for gaming and delay hasn't been an issue. I'd say its great for some non competitive gaming as long as response time isnt crucial.
tv is not same monitor. You were killing your eyes

Co-worker and I purchased this monitor last time it was on sale at $350 and we both think it is a great all around monitor. We do paly a few hours of game on this each night and think the games we do play on it looks perfectly fine. We are both older and may not have the keen eye sight younger people have but I would no hesitate to buy this monitor again if I had the desk space.

Also bought for $350 the last round and have been using since. I do a lot of spreadsheet work for which it's perfect. Sits beside a 24" Dell Ultrasharp U2410, and colour accuracy is almost as good. Slight crushing of black levels but again not far behind the Dell. For the price this is an impressive monitor.

I play alot of games on this panel... sold my pg279q cos the hz didn't make it $600 better. Yes it's was smoother but i like the bigger screen and $600 in my pocket.

Fairly happy with it but noticed a small issue when Mac mini 2011/2012 mini displayport/thunderbolt to displayporton the monitor, the Mac (el cap or Sierra) doesn't turn on the monitor from standby on initial powerup. However after that anytime mac or/monitor goes to sleep, will wake as expected. Restarts are also fine...

This doesn't happen on PC, works as expected...

keep in mind this monitor is barebone and cannot be used as TV without a modified cable. There is no audio out.

Great as computer monitor.
What cable would work?

what are you trying to do? If you are plugging this into your computer, yet...but i'd think your computer already has audio out.
If you want to plug this into the TV in hopes of achieving audio out, doubtful.

Trying to use it as a TV with a PS4, so I need audio out from it. So USB to audio jack? Never done that before.

You would need something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/AGPtek%C2%AE-SPDI ... B00TOBFSTE

or, use an amp.

Never used something like this (I have a schiit magni/modi 2), it's for my parents but it's hdmi in, and it allows hdmi and audio out? Is this the cheapest option? Do you know one that would have audio jack output?

They have this speaker: http://www.jbl.com/JBLONBEATXTAM.html

Would adding this between the device you linked work? https://www.amazon.ca/EnjoyGadgets%C2%A ... audio+jack

What I meant by an Amp is a stereo setup. For example, my 5.1 setup has an amp that I can put HDMI into. It outputs a seperate Video Feed and Audio..essentially doing the same thing as the adapter I had posted.

You basically need a way to split the signal. Whatever works in the end for you and is cheapest. I got my stereo used for $80...can't beat that for what I got lol

So what I would do: PS4 -> AMP -> TV
This would get me the PS4 sound through my surround sound, and then video to my TV.
I also have a headset setup to my AMP, so I can choose between my surround sound, or headset.

Any cheap amp recommendations? Prefer one with audio jack since the speakers used require it.

Anyone have a flickering issue with the monitor? I am running it with 60hz set, and at 2k resolution. Video card is an AMD Radeon F9 360. Flicker is horizontal lines part-way down the screen usually in-line with the window I am using. Sometimes the brightness changes as well... Have tried drivers, different settings, all experience the same issue...

If I cannot fix, it's going back today....

Tx
