[Best Buy] LG 27" 4K UHD 5ms GTG IPS LED FreeSync Gaming Monitor (27UD59P-B.AUS) - $379

Pretty hot deal. The only cheaper price I found lately on a 27" 4k monitor is $334 for the LG 27UD58, which is now out of stock on Newegg.

No HDR according to this. I have a similar panel (27UK600), and it does have HDR. I paid $430+tax from ebay/NE a couple months ago during that 15% promo.

Preach. I've been telling folks 32" is the minimum for a 4K panel, any smaller is wasted.

Agreed. 2/2 today.

This.

BTW: Anyone know what the refresh rate on this monitor is? 144hz is usually needed for gaming.
Why can't we all just get along?

I definitely not 144hz. Have you seen the prices for 144hz 4k monitors? Newegg.ca only has one and its 2600 bucks.

No, I haven't investigated prices of 4k 144hz montitors -- I got my kid a 27" MSI gaming monitor, but it's not 4k, but it is 144hz. It was regularly $399 but I got it from Staples for $249.

For the next 12 months, whenever you see a 4K monitor under $1,000, assume it's 60Hz.

I think I saw one for around 750 on Black Friday but yeah, a good rule of thumb when buying a monitor or TV is if it doesn't say the refresh rate in the title, it's 60.

All good advice from the last three peeps.

My kid at least loves the monitor, and it's curved, but it's not 4k so you can see the pixels when not gaming. With gaming, though, the 144hz looks fantastic, as does the curved screen and 1ms response. Nothing like the crap we had when I was a kid, which I think was a crappy 480 LoR -- that took a good 10 seconds to show (if it was SVGA).
