Thanks OP. I had picked up a G4 two weeks ago today for the same price without the gift card so I got best buy to throw in the extra $100 gift card.

On the cheapest Silver plan, phone buyout/subsidy is $500 so not worth it to canx immediately.

Where do you see the low contract prices? I only see $50+ and a $40 one with 100min local calling

The OP already noted lowest plans starting at min $40, check out Virgin mobile silver plan, limited time $35 plan with pay per use data.

The G3 was cheap because of G5, you have to wait till G6 announcement for any G4 deal (like the G3 deal in March), unlikely this summer.

From BB Page:

Before you buy this phone, here's what you need to know

In-store activation on a two-year Gold plan is required.

The gold plans suggested in store were $40, $44, $47 and up. Those were different from the ones on the Virgin Mobile website.

supposed to have been fixed. all version starting from december 2015 shouldn't have that problem. we had a big talk about it during that koodo deal back in december
