[Best Buy Mobile] Best Buy - $250 GC - Samsung S9 - New activations

Just got an email in my inbox, S9 has $250 GC for new activation on Large Tab I believe, so I didn't put in title. Is it hot?

Not bad. Thank you, OP.

Boxing Day offer was $150 gift card at $0 on Medium plans, and it was a pretty hot deal.
How much does the phone costs now?

(480 + 35) *1.13 = $581.95 - $250GC = $331.95

Might be slightly more, depending on how much data you use *IF* you decide to cancel.

if the op mentioned $0+ tab large + 250gc, the final price is pretty similar to the boxing day deal

Yeah, it's $0 on Large tab. Going in to BB tomorrow to scope out stock.

I think it's a good deal. The not-so-hot part is that it's an activate-and-cancel scenario.

It's OK. A few months later, slightly more expensive, and after the S10 has been released. They can do better than this to make it a hot deal.

Well, not so much from Koodo, unless you do it a lot. But you may get blacklisted from Bestbuy. But you kinda screw the retailer out of their commission, so they don't like it. Koodo wouldn't be thrilled about it. I've done it before, but I don't anymore unless there is a way with referral credit, and promo plans that would allow me to stay for 3 months at minimal cost. But this deal is for Tab Large, so the plans are too expensive to stay.

Thanks for the clarification. I was following another Koodo/BB thread that talked about giftcards as well. I just want to ensure I get this right:

-Go to Bestbuy or Bestbuy Mobile
-Get the s9 activated on Large Tab and plan (get $250 GC from Bestbuy)
-Cancel immediately and you have a phone technically for $332(ONT)

What happens to the giftcard from Bestbuy? Can Koodo request for this back if I cancel immediately?

You got it right.

With the BB gifcards, you can buy prepaid VISA cards within BB (with a small activation fee))
