Best Buy NO LONGER Accepts Items WITHOUT a Receipt?
Just wondering if this is on select Best Buy because I was at Oakville today and say a sign/memo on the CSR saying, "...we will no longer accept Returns, Exchanges or In-Store Credit WIHTOUT a receipt."

I thought they stopped accepting returns without receipts a pretty long time ago.

too many scammers taking advantage of lax return policies, e.g. that costco thread where the guy returned his TV 2 after 2 years for a refund.

It is both luck of the draw and depends on your believability.
I return stuff for Walmart without a receipt occasionally without issue. I always have to show my drivers license though. I don't abuse this policy and only return things I bought there, just sometimes I *do* lose the receipt.

I went to BB last week to refund a PS3 game and was told they will only give me half the value on GC and I refused and went to Walmart instead

actually i think it was written years before. It;s just that people don't pay attention to what was said on the receipt or the sign behind customer's service.

When I worked at BB as long as 2+ years ago, we weren't allowed to take anything back without a receipt - even if it was only for store credit
I guess maybe some managers allow it and some don't?? Or maybe lazy CSRs not doing their job properly (which is most likely the case
)

I think more places should do this as well, way way to many damn scammers out there its sickening.
Especially the people who walk in and grab something off the shelf and ask to return it

Great Policy.
No one should be crying.
Its no ones fault but your own if you LOSE a receipt.
People blaming a CSR for being unable to take care of piece of paper. Jokes.

Why are you crying? This is always the case.
Places that take it back without a receipt are doing you a favour.
