I would only consider the M10 Mk.2 (at this price or maybe 50 bucks more) if it comes with the EZ zoom, for its really compact size.

The R zoom kind of defeats the size advantage.
If it's size you're concerned about, I think you should consider the Panasonic GM5. I think Canada Computers has an open box at Unionville for 699.99. Because it's open box you should be able to get an additional 10% off.

I prefer M10 with its dslr style, ibis, view finder and external flash mount, and a full set of controls.

Also I recall Panny GM5 uses a smaller lens and placement of the lens mount is lower than normal, making it awkward to use other m43 lens.

Of the 2 brands I like Olympus' image better.

Not to derail but the sale price of $899 for the EM5 mk ii is on at Costco right now...add in the $25 masterpass discount and I think you'd get the current lowest price for the EM5 in Canada at $874.

You might be confusing the GM1 with the GM5.

While the GM5 does not have the dslr style, it does indeed have an integrated EVF, hot shoe and PASM dial. Oly's have nicer OOC JPGs but I find the Panasonic M43 bodies to be better constructed (ymmv).

You are right I might have confused it with the previous GM1 model. Thanks.

However, even the GM5 has been around since late 2014, almost a year older than the EM10 Mk.2.

The 12-32 lens that comes with the GM/GF cameras are actually pretty decent and you get a wider angle. What would be great is if you could pair the EM10 with the 12-32 panny lens. I almost considering buying a GF7 when they were clearing them out and pairing it with my Oly bodies

Yeah I really enjoyed the 12-32 for the one week I had the GX850. If Shop Panasonic was still offering the GX85K I would probably take that out over the Olympus for the nicer lens.

I ended up buying the 12-32 Panny to replace my 14-42 EZ for my M10 II. Besides the wider FOV, it's a definite improvement in terms of sharpness,

How much was the 12-32 Panny zoom?

The Oly 14-42 EZ generally sells for 300.

$349 retail at the Panasonic eStore if you're Panasonic partner. I think it's $429 if you're not.
