[Best Buy] WD easystore 8TB External HD $160

WD easystore 8TB USB 3.0 Desktop External Hard Drive $159.99

Edit: changed link to https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/wd ... y/14936768
as WDBAMA0080HBK-NESN seems to be sold out but WDBAMA0080HBK-NESE is still in stock and appears to be the same thing.

Yes. IIRC they're the WD white label air filled drives.

Better off just getting an internal and cheap enclosure (if you need one) for that price.

These have always been shuckable... used to have helium drives but within the last year or two they switched to air cooled drives at the 8TB size.

I'm sure people with recent experience will weigh in with exact drive specs, etc. soon.

Its not just the 8TBs that are air filled now. Ive seen a few cases of 14TBs being air filled white labels as well.

The link you posted has pictures of both the Easystore and the Elements drive. Title says Easystore so maybe some of the pictures are incorrect. Elements has data encryption Easystore doesn't.

It did. The 14TB @ $259.99 was the one.

He said rarely gets better, that's the one time Boxing Day price that was offered. Unless you are looking to buy hard drives one time per year, $20/TB is a great price.

Yeah $20/TB is the typical good sale price I would say. So Warm. Anything lower is usually HOT.

I was going to buy ... but I think I'll wait for helium filled and maybe 10TB atleast... I'll have to replace my parity though so I will need to buy 2x 10TB... I'm all 8TB at the moment... and a couple of 4TB drives...

Shuckable for sure but might need to cover the 3.3v pin if not being used in a NAS like Synology. See:

Bought 4 of these a couple of weeks ago (and got them to price protect today, thanks OP). Shucked them all - 2 were EZAZ helium-filled and 2 were EDAZ air-filled if you needed some points of data.

Did you need to cover the pin with any of these?
