Wasn't it a bit risky to buy a diamond costed >= $10,000 online? What do you think? Thanks.
Nope. A 10k diamond online is like 20k+ at the local shop! With the right research you can really get a hot deal on it!

Not if you go with a reputable dealer. They should be more than happy to ship it to your favourite local jeweler who can appraise it and let you know if it is as advertised. If it is you keep it (and then pay the dealer), if it isn't the diamond is returned and no money ever left your pocket. (Well that may be complicated by cross border shopping, since you may have to pay GST+PST when the diamond comes into the country, and then somehow get it refunded in the case of a return).

Of course they won't just ship it to anybody, so if your favourite local jeweller happens to be Russel Oliver, they may ask you to pick someone else instead :D

Do you mean the stone only?

If I go with the suggested dealers in the first post, would it be OK?

I heard that the serial number (or some sort of mark) can be lasered onto the diamond so that you know it won't be switched when you have the setting done in a local store, is that right?
