Hi,
I don't have a landline, so would like to do all faxes online. Right now, I'm even ok with just out-going.
Has anyone had luck with just a free service? The one I used but a big advertising banner along the right side of the page. Not unexpected for free, but also not professional.
Anyways, just looking for the most economical online fax solution, send-only or send-receive.
Thanks!

I use http://www.metrofax.com/ for my business, pretty good service and the quality is great versus the other one I test myfax.com

We use AcroVoice. They support both sending and receiving. At $15/month they're not free, but I finally gave up on the free / ultra low cost services when I got tired of having to call people to see if the fax arrived or not.

I used to use MyFax until they were bought by the evil that is known as j2. On that topic, if your fax number is important to you, find out if a prospective fax provider will allow you to port your number to another service, and if so, how much they will charge for the privilege. j2/MyFax/eFax for example doesn't allow porting out and charges a $500 penalty if you try. And you have to give the number back!

I just started using HelloFax . You get a limited number of pages free per month after which it costs $0.99 per fax (which is great if you only send faxes occasionally). Alternatively you can subscribe to one of their monthly plans, which seem to be cheaper than the other alternatives. They also allow for an upload of electronic signature, which I haven't used yet, but seems like it could be useful when you need to electronically sign something....

I use SRFax.com out of Vancouver.
Costs us $9.40 a month including GST for their basic plan. We only get or send a few dozen FAXes a month so have never exceeded whatever threshold they have for additional fees. Has every feature & configuration we need and never had a problem with them for the last 3-4 years.
It terminates to a toll-free 1-866 number so our customers don't have to pay. It connects to our internal network so all the desktops can receive the FAX-to-Email or send PC-to-FAX. Connects to our networked printer/scanners for the manual outbound jobs.Last edited by Just Confused; Aug 10th, 2012 at 06:48 PM.

Has anyone had any experience with PrestoFax?
I setup an account with VBuzzer years ago and had some outstanding credits so I activated their fax service for my wife's business.
She'll need something very stable / reliable, so thinking of switching. Eventually may have to go to regular fax line with Bell or Teksavvy.
Until then, looking for a stable online fax provider.

Both DellVoice and FreePhoneLine (both provided by Fongo ... a spinoff from Fibernetics/295.ca) will recognize and receive an incoming FAX when the call goes to VoiceMail.
I know that with FreePhoneLine it forwards me the faxes via email attached as PDF and also saves them on the site.
For sending stuff... HelloFax promo for Google Drive:
