Best freelance job posting websites
I was looking online to get some help designing a website and came across some freelance job posting sites, for example Elance.
Are there some specific freelance job websites that anybody has used in the past that can be recommended?
Thanks in advance!

Prepare to be possibly flamed.... but I personally have liked my experience with both crowdspring and freelancer.
For crowdspring, we ran a competition for a couple grand to have our site redesigned. Got over a hundred submissions, and we worked quite closely with a few designers before ultimately selecting the "winner"
For freelancer, we asked for quotes for people to do a video for us. Ended up with the video that's on our homepage for about a few hundred. Personally, I think the video was a steal at that price.
Feel free to post if you have any other questions about our experience. One quick comment is that if you're looking for design work, I prefer something like crowdspring/99designs. Gets you more options instead of something like elance wherein you have to hire someone upfront.

Freelancer.com is the one I've used before. Mileage may vary. 90%+ of the freelancers there are from south asia. The cost is reasonable but...
You have to be pretty vigilant with the offers you receive. I would also recommend you have a very detailed requirements document/template if you're seeking web design. It saves on a lot of headaches with any outsourced work. Personally wasn't impressed with the freelancer crowd so going local maybe a better bet for you (albeit more money at least you have someone to call as opposed to an 'organization' abroad).

I've also used freelancer.com, but I wasn't very happy with the results.

If you are looking for a designer - http://www.creativeshake.com/search/recent_samples.html Or even, Twitter - https://twitter.com/#!/search/web%20designer
If you are looking for a template, which you can take to a developer, a contest website might work. It's not that great if the project is ongoing though. jmo... If it's not a one off.
If you are looking for a final product, you might be able to find one for sale, at a template website. It's not good for high end professional work though, as in the past some have violated copyright and been sued substantially. And a few thousand other people will have the same website. It won't really be noticeable in the short term, but in the long term it might be. For personal or side project work, sure...

Freelancing Job Websites
There are several that spring to mind. Elance, odesk, and freelancer as other posters have mentioned. You could also try an ad on craigslist, problogger, or if you have small jobs (or want to break down a larger job) you could try fiverr. While it isn't a freelancer job posting site per se, warriorforum has a very lively forum community and there are posters there who are always on the lookout for freelance writing and web design work.
