Wherever you sign up, do it only on the basis of prepaid cash, yearly or monthly . . . stay away from anyone insisting you pay by monthly pre-authorized debit or credit-card billing, as you're almost guaranteed to be signing yourself up to be bilked if you should ever dare to try and cancel your membership. OK so I know premier fitness is out. They don't talk about any other gyms. Should I be worried about them too?

Hmm I didn't know the YMCA had a gym. thought it was just after school programs and a community center type of thing. I'll check it out, thanks

I go to the U of T athletic centre downtown because there isn't a YMCA in a convenient location on the way home and I get an alumni discount.
