Best HDTV manufacturer/warranty ?

Hi there,

I really need some help on this. I am 19 - buying my first HDTV with some money I have been saving as my 27" tube tv has been going bad for awhile.
I really want to get the best one I can for the $1300.00 total that I have now.
The main use for this TV would be to watch DVD's and play Xbox 360 and a bit of TV.

I saw a great deal on a 40" Samsung LCD at Costco - it was $949.00. I also saw a 42" Panasonic Plasma TV there for $1079.00. I have also seen various models of Samsung and Panasonic at FS and London Drugs.

The Samsung LCD at Costco is a great deal but I have read a lot of concerning reviews about the Samsung's and the warranty they come with.

I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with Samsung TV's and their warranty service and/or the Costco Concierge service ? If so, was it good and bad and do they provide in home repair on the bigger TV's ?

Any suggestions, advice or recommendations would be much appreciated !!

Don't know where you're at, but, Tiger Direct has a 47" Olevia with excellent reviews from most RFD'ers, for $1199.99. I have had mine for almost a year now, and I wouldn't trade for any other. Check out some of the threads, and you'll see what I mean.
