....for your porn connaisseurs there aint any lololol
Yes...I realized this during the trial. :( Oh well....Great service with probably the best quality footage I've seen thus far. To be fair though, I was running Vader on my XBOX one which pretty much blows any android box away; in terms of performance.

MiBox is of good quality; I have no problem with it.
But I do not like it has no ethernet port and forces me to buy an adapter for ethernet cable connection.
YMMV.

Shield is beyond my budget range.

One can always buy any generic box sold by Amazon or fuifilled by Amazon enjoying peace of mind to return it free of shipping fee for a full refund in case the box is a lemon.
No Ethernet port?.....what is this utter nonsense!!!?

What's so special about it that it comes up in many a discussion, regarding suggested boxes?

Yup, no Ethernet port....but does gave good 11AC wifi if you have a decent router setup.

What's special? Well, it is one of the few that actually runs official AndroidTV, so that you can get full HD and UHD Netflix for example (DRM). It is also much cheaper than the arguably better ShieldTV, but the MiBox with a decent AC router will be able to stream almost anything you could think of throwing at it. If you don't have the best wifi router, you can easily get a USB to Ethernet adapter for $15 to eliminate any wifi issues.

There is just not many AndroidTv boxes out there, that are so called plug and play

Mi Box 3 has no ethernet port.
You will need a micro USB to Ethernet adapter if you prefer wired connection.

This one is a good alternative to MiBox 3.
https://www.amazon.ca/Android-Amlogic-B ... 075RYGT2Q/
Compared to Mi Box 3, it has more memory (16GB vs 8GB), better cpu ( Amlogic S912 vs Cortex-A53), more connection options (Ethernet vs none), newer OS (Android 7 vs Android 6), longer return period (30 days vs 14 days) and cheaper ($89 vs $125).

I am using a similar box with same specs except more memory 32GB vs 16GB. I bought direct from a Chinese eStore and cheaper too. But it took 6-8 weeks to ship and no return period. I gambled and won !
My Sammix S905x ($43) is actually from Amazon (fulfilled by them too). I was so excited to get this box and watch IPTV but all 3 apps I installed either crashed or locked up. I am never buying these cheap boxes ever again. I actually have a Mi Box 1S but the hrjsiptv app would crash if I switch channels too often so I wanted to get a new box because I don't have this issue on my Nexus 7 2013 tablet. I am going to get mi box 3 but like you said no Ethernet port which is one of the reasons why I got a Sammix box. Hopefully, the wifi won't be much of an issue as I live in a condo that's not too big.

Here's the crap box I got:

Chinese boxes running Android mobile OS are garbage compared to the Mi Box running Android TV OS. Just my opinion, but I've owned both, and worked on numerous different Chinese boxes.
So what's the consensus on the best iptv service? Vader?

It worked excellent for 1.5 weeks and for the last few days some of the sports channels are frozen. The premium movie channels seem to be freezing as well and/or stuck on "loading".
Did you try a different server?

Ya, your right. I think you know what I meant, but I guess I should have specified the difference. Mi Box runs Android TV OS. This as far as I'm concerned is a lot better that running the Android mobile OS on your tv.
Fixed.

This box any good? https://www.tomtop.com/p-v3347us.html?mid=10000019528
That box uses Amlogic S905W and is thus cheaper than one with Amlogic S905X.

To be simple:
S905W: 4K@30fps
S905X: 4K@60fps

If you do not play 4k video or happy to play 4k video @ 30 frames per sec (fps), you are good to buy that box.

Great! I don't have a TV that's 4k capable so I'll be fine.
