Japanese - I like Applause on Oak & 67th (next to Starbucks). Wild sockeye sashimi and uni very fresh. Not cheap though.

There'll be long waits, the service is non-existent, and the place is packed. But what you get is really good quality food and it's relatively cheap. Their rolls are great (Awesome roll, mango roll, spider roll, etc.), their sashimi is fresh and the pieces are huge, and their terryaki is also pretty good.

I actually don't like to tell people about this place because the lineups are getting longer and longer

i went to sushi town before while i was at burnaby north.. it wasnt quite packed.. however that was like... 3 yr ago? during lunch time.

sushi kaji ... japanese but not cheap ...
