Best laptop for 1000$ tax in?
My girlfriend needs a new laptop for University this fall and she wants a 'girly' laptop (fashion kinda thing you know). She was thinking about the Sony Vaio VGNNS240DW for 800$CAD + taxes. The specs are nothing exceptional though. I'm sure she could find something better for the price.
13.3" - 14.1" would be preferred but 15.4" could be an option..
Any suggestion anyone?

No amount of benchmarks will deter the aesthetically minded from choosing price/performance over fashion.
I've been there. Take my advice: Give up

If she must do the fashion route, then yes. Otherwise, Thinkpads are good regardless. I'm no goth, no businessman, but I love my Thinkpad.
