Best Non-iPhone (and non-Zune) MP3 player?
Anyone have any recommendations on a good mp3/video player that has drag and drop functionality straight from Windows without the use of any proprietary software (iTunes etc)? Ideally it would work very much like a portable hard drive where I could create nested directories right from Windows and drag mp3s and video files into those directories for easy navigation. Thanks for any advice/recommendations.

Honestly, I think once you move away from the Apple & Microsoft products, just about everything has drag & drop capability. I would suggest checking out http://www.anythingbutipod.com/ - this would probably be a good article to start with: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/archi...yers-guide.php

I picked up a Sandisk Sansa e260 4GB @ the Bay a few weeks back for $39.99 after my ipod Shuffle started flaking out on me. You might want to check out if there are any left.
The player shows up as a seperate drive and I just drag and drop my music etc. I am so glad to be free of itunes.
It's a great little unit. I am also looking forward to flashing it with this:

Good luck.

I flashed my player yesterday.
Rockbox is fantastic. I've transformed my unit from an mp3 player to an entertainment system.
I remember playing Doom on a high end computer many years ago, now I can play it on my tiny little Sansa. Too funny.
