Best place to look for a Las Vegas package online
I am looking at heading to Vegas from Edmonton for my stag with a few friends and I was wondering what the best site is to look for a Vegas package. We are going to head out there from April 12-15 (wed to sat) to avoid expensive hotel costs and also not hit any blackout dates from easter.
I have been leaning towards USAirlines (who merged with American West) since the flight is direct and leaves early on the Wed and flies back late on the saturday. The problem is that I have heard of them canceling flights on people and that is what worries me.
Anyone have any other suggestions. The conquest packages are waaaay overpriced and I didn't see anything all that great with expedia.

I'm not sure about Conquest, but I've booked a Las Vegas trip at expedia.ca with departure date of Christmas Day [Dec 25,2005-Dec 28,2005], $253 tax included for roundtrip airfare, and about $80 a night for hotel. [Booked them seperately] Departure is from Vancouver, sometimes there are really nice deals if you book it seperately.

Have gone twice with America West from toronto with no problems. America west vacations have the cheapest prices for packages to Vegas. I went 4 times last year and no one came close to AW Vacations.

it really depends on time you are going.
i went during x'mas and expedia's airfare was by far the cheapest and packages were much cheaper than AW by a few hundred.
but booking seperately will get you cheapest rate usually and more flexible too.

I think they are using conquest and they are WAAAAY overpriced. Check out the difference..(prices in CDN$ using a 1.2 conversion rate)
USAirlines - Bally's 3 nights (2 people) $1011.84
Sell off Vacations - Bally's 3 night (2 people) $1785.18
** EDIT ** LOL I just looked at the exact same package through AMA - $2400
If I look seperately I am looking at keeping the same flightplan and for the hotel. I am using the Alladin here as I know they have a bit of a deal and I can't get directly to Bally's website through my work's firewall.
Flight - America West $436 x2 = $872.00
Alladin 3 nights - $173.00ea x2 = $346.00 Total $1218.00
I am hoping there may be some more deals popping up next month. Who knows

I'm going to Vegas for 5 days/4 nights at the end of april/may I'm flying Philippine Air (YVR is a stopover from Manila/YVR/Vegas flight on an Airbus 340) for $322 cdn and I have a room at Treasure Island for $280 cdn per person. And the same dates and same hotel in a package was like $80 more. So I check if you can get a good deal of air fare and pick your hotel. And check the hotel's site itself because you might get 2 for 1 coupons for their restaurants, free champagne when you check in, free room upgrades and/or free chips for their games if you stay with their website promos. But you have to stay on the right days b/c some dates are not valid for the promo's.

Hmmm, try booking last minute. As in a week before. I've found most Los Vegas deals can be had 1/2 price if you are patient and flexible enough...
Try searching for a few A/I a week from now and you'll see what I mean.
Oh another place to try: itravel2000

You might consider booking airfare & hotel separately.
It is usually cheaper, and you have built-in "trip insurance"
as the cost to change the flight to a different day/location are nominal
and hotel reservations can be cancelled.
Aladdin has a deal for those nites, no cost to cancel.

You have to phone to reserve.
If you have an Starwood Preferred Guest card, let them know.
It might get you a free upgrade.

Was looking that way but also took into consideration traveltime and layovers. AirCanada has some cheap flights but you are looking at multistops with long layovers. Best flight deal I found was through Westjet @ $351.00 taxes inc. but you can only travel tues/thurs/sun The flights are not that bad (evening departure and a latenight return) but the high weekend price of the hotel kinda offsets that plus it's a seat sale and I am looking at 4 people to coordinate so it's going to be a hit or miss getting that rate.
America West has the best flighttimes and really maximizes our stay - the flight out is direct @ 6:30AM and the return is direct @ 11:59PM
I saw the Alladin deal but the Friday night $99.00 is sold out so I am up to $169.00 US$ for the room on that day. I am going to give the $20.00 trick a shot and see if that gets me anything.
Damn this website for making me so cheap and wanting the absolute best deal.

I used to think that. I went to vegas just before xmas 4 nights at the luxor plus air (from toronto) 380 CND. When I went in Oct. america west vac. was cheaper by 150 dollars then the flight and rooms I had booked on my own.
By the way. America west vacations for the dates the OP listed non stop flights to and from vegas (from edmonton) for 2 people $900 CND. At the alladin hotel Tax inc. Flight leaves Edm 6:30 AM Leaves vegas 11:55 PM

I paid $8 more with Harmony (Westjet about the same) with no stopover for the same 5/4. I dunno how PA is, so I didnt want to chance it.
