Best place to search for a job in Heating, Ventilation, and/or Air Conditioning?
What would be the best way to search for a job in the Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning field? My brother in law has just completed a course in this field from Hi-Mark and is now a licensed G2 Technician. He's on a co-op placement assisting someone part time but is having difficulty finding a job (little experience apart from the co-op).
Thanks for any advice.

I'm in the same boat except I'm coming from George Brown.
There is virtually no jobs right now.

Home Energy Retrofit Program creating more demand for HVAC work?
I got the impression that the Home Energy Retrofit Program government rebates were creating more demand for HVAC work.
I know of a London area HVAC company who was looking to hire someone to help with their home energy audits. Maybe auditing could be a possible place to start. It would be a foot (and blower) in the door, anyway. I don’t think that job requires prior experience - they provide the training. Possibly look for an HVAC company that does its own energy audits. (We had work done and think Roy Inch and Sons (London area) are a good, reputable company.) Maybe the more reputable companies are in higher demand? What about demand in Alberta and Saskatchewan?
List of companies from Home Energy Retrofit Program FAQs
http://www.energy.gov.on.ca/index.cf...rofit_faqs#q27
"Q. Where can I find a service organization that can provide energy assessments?
A. A full list of licensed service organizations is available on Natural Resources Canada’s website: http://www.oee.nrcan.gc.ca/residenti...ors.cfm?attr=4 or go to www.ecoaction.gc.ca and follow the links to ecoENERGY Retrofit.
If you have no internet access, you can call 1-800-O-Canada (1 800 622-6232).
Q28. If the auditor is also a retrofit contractor, does that mean that he is licensed to do the retrofit work by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) as well?
A: Auditors are licensed by NRCan to do home energy audits. The licence from Natural Resources Canada does not relate to the retrofit work although some auditors may also offer the renovation services. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to engage a contractor that the homeowner feels will perform the work satisfactorily and at an acceptable price."
Maybe try other provincial government sites too?
I wish him luck because I know being unemployed sucks.
