Any suggestions? I want to sell my 24-70mm 2.8 L Canon lens but when I put it on Kijiji and Craigslist all I seem to be getting is international scammers or low ballers.

kijiji and craigslist works great, just add "local transaction and cash only"

This lens is in high demand and hard to find used in mint condition. 1400$ seems to be the going rate

kijiji is great. lower the price if it's not selling. IMO, $1400 is a bit too much, I'd list it for $1250.

This.
Perhaps the 'lowballers' aren't all lowballers, and that you're simply overpricing it. People who buy used expect a much larger discount than you would think. There is risk involved when buying used, and you have to compensate the risk with a cheaper price tag. You might know there's nothing wrong with the lens, but do they? Should they believe you? It's not like you have any credibility, so try thinking from their perspective.

I bought one for $1300 brand new off of eBay 3 years ago. Seller was local so picked up at his condo in the GTA to save on shipping fees. (Shipping was $50).
Sold it for $1200 after nearly two years later on RFD or Craigslist (can't remember now), but I kept it in pristine condition, you couldn't tell it was 2 years old. Always had a filter on it from day one._______________
