I was at BestBuy and saw this Belkin Skype Phone for $25 down from $79.97. It was obviously on Clearence on the bottom shelf right before the check out counters.

I would be concerned. Belkin sold a lot of these bricks, which died in droves, and were not supported. I own one, so I am slightly bitter. http://www.belkin.com/uk/skype/faqs/

I have a Netgear phone which didn't work for a time as Skype had changed something that made phones like these not function. Because of the huge outcry, Skype finally fixed the problem after about 2 weeks. Are you sure your Belkin still doesn't work?
The phone in OP's post is a wired phone that connects by cable to a router.

This is the first time I've heard of these phones. Based on how useful these phones are I looked into them further. They have a lacklustre record.
The wifi phone seemed like it would be even more useful, but reviews are often very negative. The chief complaint is that the wifi phones cannot be used in public wifi spots because it doesn't have a browser to login to the Starbucks, hotel, etc. wifi login page.
Other phones that would be competitors to this phone seem to have been discontinued.
If anyone knows of another product similar to these phones with good review, please share. Thanks.

Well they are pretty cheap and I I'm getting it for someone's bday today because they make a lot of Skype calls.
Does anyone know of Bestbuy will take back Clearence items?

Beware of Belkin's policy on warranty.
I bought a TV antenna on sale mentioned in a thread last week. It had dismal reviews but I still bought it. It arrived DOA. I called Belkin technical service that advised me that products that are no longer being produced will not have their warranty honored. So, my antenna will not be repaired or replaced.
Buyer beware, and only buy Belkin if you're ready to accept those conditions.

The bottom line is, if you buy the Belkin Skype phone from Best Buy and it doesn't work or is DOA, you can return it. Simple as that.
If you're worried that it's going to stop working a year or two from now, well, pony up for the extended warranty.
