Good web browser, portable, hdmi, dual hd cameras @ a good pricepoint. I would still opt for a Nexus 7 when it comes out in a few weeks but if you're not big into apps then the PB is a solid choice.

If that's the case why buy a BRAND device instead of a no-name significantly cheaper one, which will STILL give you access to Android??? Makes zero sense.

Idiots should have made a 3G version not a wifi leaching model...

now that cheap Google branded PROFITABLE tablets with a better resolution screen are on the market RIM needs to step and cut these turds to $99

You're not supposed to boot it up often. If you leave it on standby with all apps closed, and all wireless things off. It would lose about 2% of battery life each day. Meaning you can keep it in standby for at least 50 days before it goes dead. And in that case, if you are going to leave it for that long, a 3 minute start every 50 days isn't bad. Or you probably don't need a tablet in the first place.

WHY the hell can they NOT just make a nice software for the Playbook. It will sell like hotcakes then.

With that being said, I sold my Playbook in a week. Worst OS ever. The hardware was very nice though.

Other than the missing 3G and the autofocus camera(not a big nono) I likes the playbook... I have no idea how they could not slap in 3G into the PB and ship it out...

APple made 2 iPad versions since the PLaybook came out and these clows cannot even get 1 update out. pathetic.

How can rim say they want high clients when they ship out begging wifi tablets... this just shows the low end clients RIM is aiming for these days...
teenieboppers are RIM's new meat and potatoes...

If it goes to sub $100 again, I may pick one up for my kid for the car rides.

My wireless drops all the time, and I'm not the only one. The playbook is garbage. At least I only paid $100 for it.

maybe mine is a dud, but when i have it on standby, the next day the battery is pretty much down at least to 80% or lower

hmmm is RIM even making money selling these things? I think at $179 a piece, it's the total of manufacture and R&D cost. although, no point getting tablets now (IMO) as smart phones are getting to pretty reasonable "reading" size.

shrink the playbook to 5 inches, slap on 3G and call it "playbook phone" and it may actually sell

They should just blow these things out. It's clear no one wants to buy them at $200 or even $150.
When the Nexus comes out, it's game, set, match.
What's the point of having all this playbook inventory sitting around depreciating in value -- it's not wine!
No one wants to buy a tablet from a company that might not be around in 18 months.

Yeah, I have this playbook from the first batch of $199. Patiently wait for the upgrade but seem that RIM
will be gone in matter of time. This piece of junk is good for nothing other than surf the web and Youtube ...
It took more than 4 min just to get start up, can't even do any IM, video call like iPad & Android tablet.
avoid it like the plague guys.
