If your desk is deeper than 2', you should be ok. I'm sitting about 1.5' away from it (until I move). With you sitting up too close, the edges are hard to see, but overall the monitor is great for productivity. (I upgraded from a 27" 4k)

Can you tell me what's the advantage of the Phillips compared to a 4K TV? The LG 43" is the same price on sale in flyer and is a 4K smart TVachohan91 wrote: ↑Nov 24th, 2015 1:15 amI got this monitor for 899 in first week of September. Amazing monitor, use for pc, xbox one and ps4. Colors are great and I downloaded ICC profile from TFT central to get the most accurate colors out of this monitor. Really happy with the purchase but at 699 this is a no brainer. I wish I waited another two months.

You don't want to use a generic 4K TV for PC monitor use. You may encounter issues with Text and other fine details.

The 43" supports 4:4:4 chroma, so text should not be a problem. However the input lag is pretty high on the LG: http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/uf7600

Using this as a daily driver, not even once I have encountered this issue since most of the content you view is not in boxes like the video. You will hardly ever encounter this if you are going to be browsing, watching movies or playing games.

The size seems almost overwhelming to have on a desk and can only imagine using this monitor for gaming at 4k. How's the monitor for productivity, browsing, etc?Sean1337 wrote: ↑Nov 24th, 2015 4:19 pmI also have this monitor and bought it for $899
$699 is a huge bargain
I've had zero issues whatsoever with this monitor
40" is absolutely perfect size for a 4K monitor. Text size is roughly the same as with 1080p, except you get a crazy amount of screen real estate.
Main reason to go with monitor over TV is for the display port so you can do 4K at 60HZ (4K at 30HZ is stupid and lags like hell).
