How about with credit card company.....is it tough to do? I have Capital Aspire One Travel card with some good benefits.

That's awesome. I phoned BB to price protect and was told no because their was no stock at bestbuy.ca. Reading so many people who have been successful in getting the price adjusted I was a little fumed at not getting the money back. So I phoned back hoping for more luck with another CSR.

Second CSR right away knew what I wanted, she said they've been getting calls all night for price adjustments and she was more than happy to adjust my price. Got my $130+tax back on my CC within 7 days.

So if anyone gets denied trying to get the lower price, phone back and try again with another CSR!

It's weird that they'd say no. By that logic I'd then threaten to go instore, return the item and repurchase it at the updated new price. Makes no sense that they'd refuse.

Congrats to all who PMed or got price protection. People who ordered through bestbuy check the notebook thoroughly as the reason they might have dropped the price could be all the returns they got with some cosmetic issues. I has 2 P580 from BB amd one from FS. The 2 from BB were pretty banged up and from FS was pristine.

It seems to be all random. The one (and only) I got from BB looks brand-spanking-new. According to the manufacturer date on the back of laptop it was made Dec 5th 2012. Checked the warranty online by the serial number and it still has almost a year left on it. Although there is a refurb sticker on the back of the laptop, I can't believe it actually is. There was no fingerprints, scratches or anything. Everything works great. I've had mine running 24/7 since I got it setup too.

I've heard of a lot of people returning them though due to issues (cosmetic or otherwise). Also receiving laptops out of warranty and having to contact Lenovo and sending them the bill of sale and everything to get a new warranty attached. So I feel very lucky with the one I got.

Since I got from FS after PM BB, I paid $363. Definitely not a great deal compared to what people have paid now $249.99. I was late to the party so missed out on another PM opportunity. Now hoping that FS drops price so I can Price protect :-(
