[Best Buy] BestBuy: Lexar S23 64GB USB 3.0 - $30 (100-110MB/s read, 45-47MB/s write)

Most BB's just received a new version of Lexar's USB drive and they are on sale too. It advertises 100MB/s read and 55MB/s write, no idea if it actually is, but seems promising and a great deal at $30. Its not up on BB's website yet, but this is the exact model: http://www.lexar.com/products/lexar-jum ... lash-drive

Webcode is 10243192.

Update: Actual speeds are 45-47MB/s write, 100-110MB/s read.

Update2: Real BB link: http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/lex ... d6e399en02

Update3: Price at Futureshop is $50, so you can now pricematch it to Bestbuy for a final price of $27.80 + tax.

The BB and FS links are for the wrong product. The OP indicated the price is for the S23, not the S73.
Or the OP is wrong with his model number. That model doesn't exist on BB and GS website. I guess it would be an in store deal only then

OR,
the OP's post states that the information was *JUST* received... and that its *NOT* on website *YET*

i.e., it will either be in-store only, OR on the website.. soon. He's just trying to give a heads up for whenever it comes live online you can get it.
I mean... wow
way to call him wrong for trying to give you a HEADS UP before the deal even goes live.

Thanks OP

Enough with the flaming and with the capital letters. I finished my post by saying he might be right. I just thought he made a typo, that's it.

Anyway, if the right model number, that would be an awesome deal as amazon.com is selling it for 99.99$: http://www.amazon.com/computers-accesso ... B00B6OX4LQ

Would do a speed test before confirming that is anywhere near advertized speeds first...

It definitely is the S23 model and the webcode is 10243192. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm going to be picking up one tomorrow, so I will let you guys know what the actual speeds are.

Thanks, lol. Most stores should have it already, BB is just very slow at updating their site for anything other than major product launches.

Found this benchmark test @ Can Bike for Lexar S73
Pretty much the same results in a USB 2.0 port then a USB 3.0 port for this user.
That is for the s73. OP posted for the new s23 model.

I just bought 3 S73's at Best Buy just now. Just did a test on my Mac to transfer a 2.65GB MKV file. Activity monitor said it was writing at around 40MB/sec which sends the file to the S73 in 65 seconds. I don't think it's too slow for such a large file. You'll need to format it to NTFS, xFAT, or Mac FS to transfer files larger than the FAT32 4GB file size limit.

That seems very promising for the S23 then since the S73 achieved the same speeds as it's advertised for.
