What you do is go to ikea and buy table tops, choose separate legs and make your own L shaped desk for much cheaper. You can also use one of the smaller shelves instead of legs to make better combinations. Comes out way cheaper and this way you can organize an awesome desk. I only learned about this a couple days ago after visiting ikea and not seeing anything I like (L shaped desks). You just design your own with the parts.

An example using galant table tops and pieces:

You can even buy cable management trays for them at Ikea, works great.

but how do you attach the legs with the table tops?
Do table tops have special grooves at cornets and legs just fit in?

So basically when buying legs and table tops from ikea, you have to make sure the grooves and screws match?
how much are these table tops and legs?

Best way to get a deal is to get the tops from scratch and dent section. I've paid 15$ for a top. Had to buy legs full price tho. There's specific legs for galant series.

The table tops look like these:

http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/produ ... #/40253024
so it is not going to be much cheaper to be honest. The table top with curve $120. Going to need 2 more non-curve ones like these http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/50251350/ , so it is already around $200

then each leg is $20, so atleast another $100.

so it will easily around $400 + tax if you include drawers etc + labour

can you do without the frame? just tops on the legs?
if not, then price is even higher. $150 for frame + $120 for top + drawers and if you want to extend the table then another $150 minimum.

its looking more expensive than a pre-built one sold in walmart etc for $350. It would be great if the total cost was around $150

If you want the cheapest set of table legs, check out: these banquet table legs: http://www.homedepot.ca/product/folding ... are/980718

but those under a cheap table top (I used finished plywood, and trim) and you can get a decent budget table for less than $80.

Where is the item that is 50% off? Up to 50% should mean there is at least one item that is 50% off.

The biggest discount is $140 off to arrive at $220 (so it is $140 off $360) for the South Shore Reveal 10-Shelf Bookcase. That is not 50%.

Ummm, this sale ended a few days ago (see op). There was in fact a solid wood entertainment unit that was marked down to $200 from ~$700 -- looked like great quality but I don't have room for it.
