UrbanPoet: I also have this problamo, I personally think it's a Hijacker... And i have yet to fix the problem, and I actually gave up a while ago when I quickly switched over to Firefox. I seriously recommend you do the same...
P.S. It aint ZoneAlarm (Well not for me atleast since I don't got it)

I have the same problem, but it is almost certainly with ZoneAlarm causing it.

I can tell you this: You're missing some infos on the problem and/or not telling the whole truth about the issue. That's why we can't pin point a solution.

close firewall,antivirus,spywareare,etc and try again also clean up cache and cookies

Did you install all the latest Windows updates? It sounds like one of the latest batches of spyware (which can't be removed by standard tools) has hijacked your hosts file. A fresh install with updates prior to going online is a must these days.

After running a spyware scan, delete the hosts file. A new one that is clean will be generated.
