Which is a better cause to support?
If you have to support/donate for a certain cause, which one you will donate?
*Assume they are not local charity, so it will be (or supposed to be) beneficial to everyone on earth.
*I am asking which area would u like to see your support go, not which group has lower expense or closer to your home.
*Birthcontrol fall under "Education" for the poor
*War on terrorism does not necessary means "war". Reducing hatred between people can also acheive the same effect and should be used most of the time.Last edited by elty; Jun 23rd, 2005 at 03:15 PM.

World Vision. They take less for administration than nearly every other charity, so more of your money gets to people who need it rather than bureaucrats.

Education. By far. Education leads to prosperity, which leads to more bright minds. The more thinkers, the more research and development going on.

Environment's the way to go. Nothing else matters if the Earth can no longer support life... that is unless you want to fund research in getting our asses up into space, living on ships or colonial planets.

Jun 23rd, 2005 06:35 PM #13I'm weary of any charity that's tied to a religion. If you feel like giving to a charity that feeds the hungry etc, Oxfam is a great secular choice.

exactly my thoughts.I'm weary of any charity that's tied to a religion. If you feel like giving to a charity that feeds the hungry etc, Oxfam is a great secular choice.
I participated in a paid discussion forum and that was pointed out about World Vision.
Also they seem to be spending lots of money on TV advertising. Makes me! wonder where they spend their money.
and the point about taking in less admin money than others. Well this also was raised. Everyone says that, but who to believe. You cannot go and audit their books because they are not public companies.
